Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25, the first Galaxy phones that come preloaded with Android 14 and One UI 6 (not counting the Galaxy S23 FE, which only launched running Android 14 in select markets).
Both devices are also guaranteed four generations of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates, the same as Samsung's flagship smartphones, which is insanely impressive when you take their accessible prices into account.
However, there is one important difference that needs to be pointed out: while Samsung's flagships get monthly security updates for the first few years after they go on sale, the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25 will get a security update every three months from day one.
That's not surprising, as Samsung doesn't offer monthly security updates for most mid-range phones. The ones that do get monthly updates are those that also have an enterprise edition, such as the Galaxy A53, Galaxy A54, Galaxy XCover 5, and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro.
Frankly, the fact that Samsung is even promising five years of updates for the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25 is fantastic, and the lower frequency of security updates shouldn't be a cause for concern or affect your decision to buy either device as you won't find this kind of software support being offered by any other brand for budget-friendly smartphones.
