Samsung started releasing the April 2024 security patch to the Galaxy A53 5G with the variant of the device that’s sold internationally and then expanded it to the carrier-locked version of the smartphone for the US. Now, the tech giant has released the same security update to the variant of the Galaxy A53 5G that’s sold in Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. It carries the model number SM-A536E.
The version of the new firmware is A536EXXS9DXD2, and the April 2024 security patch it offers, fixes 44 security vulnerabilities. At the moment, the update is live in Bangladesh and Nepal. Samsung should roll it out in other countries soon. The carrier-unlocked version of the Galaxy A53 5G should also get the latest security update soon.
The Galaxy A53 5G is eligible to get Android 14-based One UI 6.1, which brings many useful features, as well as Android 15-based One UI 7.0. As for security updates, Samsung should offer those till 2027. While the tech giant will keep the phone up-to-date for the next few years with software updates, if you are planning to upgrade to a new phone, the recently launched Galaxy A55 will be a perfect upgrade for you.
