Samsung is continuing its rollout of the August 2022 security update. The latest phone to receive the new security patch is the Galaxy A72. The update is currently rolling out in Russia, and we expect it to be released in other countries within the next few days.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A72 comes with firmware version A725FXXU4BVG2. It includes the August 2022 security patch that fixes multiple security vulnerabilities found in the Galaxy A72. Those vulnerabilities are related to Samsung DeX, Samsung Knox, MAC address leaks via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and improper access control.
If you are a Galaxy A72 user in Russia, you can now download and install the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A72 early last year with Android 11-based One UI 3 on board. The phone received the Android 12-based One UI 4 update earlier this year. It will get two more Android OS updates in the future.
