It has been a very busy day for Samsung. After releasing the latest security patch to the Galaxy A20, Galaxy A30, and the Galaxy A70, the company has started rolling it out to the Galaxy A8 (2018). This smartphone was originally launched in early 2018, and it has been consistently getting security updates at least once every three months. Last month, the phone had received the March 2021 security patch in a few countries.
The Galaxy A8 (2018) has started receiving a new software update that includes the April 2021 security patch. The new update is now available in a bunch of countries in Asia and South America. The update has been released in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cambodia, Chile, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the UAE, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
The latest update fixes various security vulnerabilities, and it includes 21 fixes from Samsung and 30 fixes from Google.

If you are a Galaxy A8 (2018) user in any of the countries mentioned above, you can check for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also manually download the compatible firmware from our firmware section and flash it manually. The company is expected to roll out the security patch to the Galaxy A8 (2018) in more countries over the next few days.
