Last week, Samsung released the December 2021 security update to the Galaxy Fold in the international markets. Now, the company has released the update in the US. The new software is now available for the unlocked variant of Samsung's first foldable smartphone on various US carrier networks.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Fold comes with firmware version F900U1UEU6FUK5 in the US. The update is rolling out on AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, C-Spire, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. Apart from the December 2021 security patch that fixes dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities, the new software includes general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
If you are a Galaxy Fold user in the US, you might have already received a notification of the new update. If you haven't received the update yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy Fold was expected to launch in the first half of 2019, but its launch was delayed to September 2019 due to quality issues. The smartphone debuted with Android 9 Pie out of the box, but it received the Android 10 update in 2020 and the Android 11-based One UI 3 update earlier this year.
