Even though the new year is here, Samsung is still not done pushing last year’s security update to its devices. The company has started rolling out November 2022 security patch to two of the three variants of the Galaxy M33 5G. These two variants are SM-M336B and SM-M336BU, both of which are sold globally.
The latest update for the Galaxy M33 5G (SM-M336BU) comes with firmware version M336BUXXU3BVL6 and is currently rolling out in India. The one for the Galaxy M33 5G with model number SM-M336B has firmware version M336BXXU3BVL4, and it is rolling out in seven countries at the moment: Indonesia, Netherlands, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Both the firmware versions bring November 2022 security patch, which fixes 46 security issues.
If you live in any of these regions or have these models, your Galaxy M33 5G should show you a notification about the latest update. But sometimes, the phone might not notify you about it, and in that case, you can check for the update manually by heading to Settings » System updates and tapping on Download and install. If the phone still doesn’t get the update, you can download the firmware from our database and install it manually.
The Galaxy M33 5G made its debut back in March with Android 12 (One UI 4.1). Recently, Samsung updated the device to Android 13 (One UI 5.0). The company has promised to offer two years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates to the Galaxy M33 5G, which means the phone will get the Android 14 OS when it arrives later this year. It will get security updates till 2026.
