It has been a few days since Samsung has started rolling out the March 2023 security patch to eligible devices. Earlier today, we saw the Galaxy S21 series receive this update, and now it's the turn of the predecessor.
The Galaxy S20 is now receiving the March 2023 security patch from Samsung. As you'd expect, this update doesn't bring much more than the monthly security maintenance release, though it's good that Samsung is rolling it out fairly quickly now.
Galaxy S20 gets March 2023 security update
You can head over to our firmware section to download this Galaxy S20 update. It's a routine security maintenance release so don't expect this update to add anything exciting to your device. The good thing is that Samsung is at least being very prompt in rolling out security updates even for outdated phones like the Galaxy S20.
The March 2023 security patch fixes dozens of security bugs in Android OS. This includes fixes for the Exynos-powered varaints as well that were released in markets outside North America. It also includes about a dozen fixes for bugs in Samsung's software.
If you haven't already received the over-the-air update notification, expect to get it in the next day or so. The rollout happens fairly rapidly so it shouldn't be long before you're able to get the update. As always, you have the option to download it manually through out database.
