Last week, Samsung released the October 2022 security update to the Galaxy S20 FE. Now, the update has been expanded to the rest of the Galaxy S20 lineup, including the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra in European countries.
The latest software update for the 4G LTE versions of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with firmware version G98xFXXSFFVIB. The 5G versions of the smartphones get the new update with firmware version G98xBXXSFFVIB. The update is currently rolling out in Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Nordic countries, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Southeast Europe, Spain, Switzerland, the Baltic region, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK.
If you are a Galaxy S20 series smartphone user in any of the countries listed above, you can now download and install the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy S20 series debuted in early 2020 during Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event. The phones were launched with Android 10 onboard. They received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in late 2020 and the Android 12-based One UI 4 update in late 2021. They will get the Android 13-based One UI 5 update towards the end of this year.
