Earlier this month, Samsung released a major software update to the Galaxy S21 FE in India. It brought One UI 6.1 to the smartphone, which offers many new features. Now, the company is rolling out another software update to the device in the country. It brings the May 2024 security patch to the phone, which fixes 45 security issues.
Samsung has released the new software update to both — Exynos and Snapdragon — variants of the Galaxy S21 FE in India, which carry model numbers SM-G990E and SM-G990B2 respectively. The new firmware for the former carries version G990EXXS9FXE2 and that for the latter carries version G990B2XXU7GXE1.
To get the May 2024 security patch on the Galaxy S21 FE in India, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the new firmware from our database and install it manually using Odin on a Windows PC.

As we reported earlier, One UI 6.1 for Galaxy S21 FE doesn’t offer Galaxy AI. If you want those features, you’ll have to get a newer flagship-grade smartphone. Currently, the Galaxy S23 FE is the most affordable phone to offer Galaxy AI.
