Last week, Samsung released the December 2022 security update to the Galaxy S21 series in Europe. Now, the update is rolling out to the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy S21 series in the US. It brings improved security and better stability to the smartphones in the Galaxy S21 series.
The latest software update for the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra brings the December 2022 security patch. It fixes close to a hundred security vulnerabilities found in Samsung smartphones. The update comes with firmware version G99xUSQS5DVL3, and it is currently available on Comcast's network in the US. Other networks could release the update within the next few days.
How to download Galaxy S21's December 2022 security update?
You can download the new software update if you have a Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, or the Galaxy S21 Ultra's carrier-locked version in the US. You can do that by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy S21 series was launched by Samsung with Android 11 onboard. It received the Android 12 update late last year and the Android 13 update a few weeks ago.
