Another layer of the mystery that is the Galaxy S22 is supposedly being peeled away with the latest leak that comes courtesy of the folks over at CoverPigtou, who've published a short video and some pictures of what they say is an aluminum dummy Galaxy S22 unit.
It was only a few days ago that renders of all three Galaxy S22 models leaked online, and frankly, those showed much more of interest than these pictures of the dummy unit. Without a Galaxy S21 next to the dummy unit for comparison, it's hard to say what — if anything — is different on next year's base model.
Rumor has it the regular S22 will have a slightly smaller screen of 6.06 inches, down from 6.2 inches on the Galaxy S21, but that's not something we can confirm based on the pictures you see below. If this dummy unit represents the final product, it suggests what those leaked renders already told us: Samsung's sticking with the same rear-facing design for at least the regular Galaxy S22 and the S22+.
And that's alright by us, because the Galaxy S21 series' unique camera-island-meets-metal-frame design is one of the best Samsung has ever come up with. However, it seems Samsung will be trying something new with the Galaxy S22 Ultra that you may or may not like. Just how accurate these leaks are remains to be seen, though, so we won't jump to any conclusions just yet.
