The Galaxy S22 has started receiving the May 2024 security update in Latin American countries. The update was released in Europe two weeks ago and in the USA two days ago. Over the next few days, more countries and regions will get access to this update.
Galaxy S22 May 2024 security update now available in Latin America
The new software update for the Galaxy S22 series brings the May 2024 security patch. The update is now available across Latin America with firmware version S90xEXXS9EXE5. It is a relatively small software update, so its download size is well under 1GB, and you can download it even using a cellular connection.
The May 2024 security patch fixes 45 security vulnerabilities discovered in previous software versions. As expected, the update doesn't bring any new features or performance gains to the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The Galaxy S22 was launched in early 2022 with Android 12-based One UI 4 software. It received the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update in late 2022 and the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. It will likely get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update in late 2024.
