Galaxy S22 owners may be in for a surprise this week, as Samsung has apparently released the stable Android 14-based One UI 6 update for some users. Before you get excited, the stable update has only been released for One UI 6 beta testers. A wider rollout for all Galaxy S22 owners has not started yet, though that may not be the case for long.
At the time of this writing, the stable update is available for beta testers in Europe. Its firmware version ends in DWK4, and since it is only changing the beta version of One UI 6 to the official version, the update's download size is smaller than 300MB. Once the rollout starts for Galaxy S22 users who are still on Android 13, the download size will be much larger at around 3GB or so.
If you are using the One UI 6 beta on your Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, or Galaxy S22 Ultra, you can check if the stable update is available by tapping the Download and install option in the phone's Settings » Software update menu. It would be a good idea to backup any important data before installing the update, even if chances of something going wrong are slim.
If you are using Android 13 at the moment, there are some steps you can take to prepare your phone for the Android 14 update. Once you have done that, check out our definitive guide to all the One UI 6 features and changes and also watch the video embedded above.
