Galaxy S22 Ultra has the same slow-mo limitation as the Galaxy S21 Ultra

Given that the Galaxy S22 Ultra's cameras are mostly identical to that of the Galaxy S21 Ultra (with a few not-so-minor tweaks here and there), one would expect most of the features to carry over with a few extra ones thrown in the mix for good measure. However, some of its shortcomings have also been ported over.

A cursory glance at Samsung's official website reveals that the Galaxy S22 Ultra cannot record slow-motion videos at 960 FPS, despite having the requisite hardware to do so. On the other hand, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ can do so just fine. We saw this pan out last year with the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy S21/Galaxy S21+.

The likely cause for the Galaxy S22 Ultra being unable to record 960 FPS video could be due to sensor limitations, so Samsung cannot simply flip a switch and enable it via an OTA upgrade. While the feature is relatively niche and probably won't be used by everyone, it is frustrating that a $1,200 phone doesn't support it, especially when its lower-specced siblings do.

Is the omission of 960 FPS video recording on the Galaxy S22 Ultra bothersome to you? Let us know in the comments below.
