A few days ago, Samsung released the stable Android 14 update to the Galaxy S23 series, but the update is still not available worldwide. However, the company is expanding the rollout of the major new software every day. The latest region to get the stable One UI 6.0 update for the Galaxy S23 is Australia.
Australian Galaxy S23 units get stable Android 14-based One UI 6 update
The Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update is now available for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra in Australia. The update comes with firmware version S91xBXXU3BWJM, and it has a download size of around 3,074MB. Unfortunately, it doesn't include the November 2023 security patch that Samsung started rolling out to a few phones over the past week.
Since this is a major software update, it is better to back up your personal data before you install the One UI 6.0 update on your Galaxy S23 device. You can check for the new update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. The new firmware file for Australian Galaxy S23 series devices is now available in our firmware database, and you can download them to flash the new software manually using the Odin tool.
Top One UI 6.0 features and changes
One UI 6.0 is the first major Android OS update for the Galaxy S23 series. It brings several new features and design changes that you can see in our in-depth One UI 6.0 video below. Those changes include a completely new Quick Panel layout, a slightly refreshed notifications design, a new media player widget in the notifications area and the lock screen that features a waveform animation, and a new Battery section in the Settings app.
The update also brings improved stock apps, including a new design for the camera app, which is now easier to use. One UI 6.0 also brings a two-hand drag-and-drop gesture that lets you select multiple files and move them from one location to another. It also gets Custom Camera and Weather Insights widgets. Image and video editing features and related UI have also been improved.
