Samsung will likely start rolling out the One UI 6.1 update later this month, at least in some countries. This update's release schedule was revealed by Samsung a few weeks ago. The update is coming to the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series.
One UI 6.1 debuted with the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024.
Galaxy S23 FE to get One UI 6.1 update by the end of March 2024
For the first time ever, Samsung will release a new version of One UI to the Galaxy S and the Galaxy S FE series simultaneously. Yes, the Galaxy S23 FE is getting the One UI 6.1 update at the same time as the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. This is a welcome change from Samsung and makes Galaxy S FE series owners feel like they are a part of the Galaxy S family.
One UI 6.1 will bring many Galaxy AI-powered features to these devices. Those features include real-time language translation during calls and messaging, voice transcription and automatic person tagging in the Voice Recorder app, webpage summarization in Samsung Internet, notes summarization in Samsung Notes, and wallpaper generation via text prompts. It also brings Interpreter Mode that can be used when conversing with people who don't speak your language. Circle to Search is also a part of the package.

This upcoming version of One UI also brings Generative AI-powered image editing to straighten images with a crooked angle and erase unwanted objects in an image. It can also be used to change the position and size of objects/subjects in images. Instant Slow Mo feature, which is powered by AI, converts regular videos into slow-motion videos by adding Generative AI-powered frames between existing frames.
Samsung Keyboard also gets AI-powered features, including grammar improvement suggestions, language styling suggestions, and powerful spell check.
Non-Galaxy AI features are also a part of One UI 6.1
Apart from all those AI-powered features, OneUI 6.1 will also bring new lock screen mini widgets, a custom font option for the lock screen clock widget, and wallpaper frames and color effects. It also brings smoother animations and transitions, which is particularly noticeable while opening and closing apps.
