When it comes to firmware, Samsung never sleeps. The company is now testing One UI 5.1.1 on select devices and is developing One UI 6.0. In addition, new data gathered from its servers says Samsung is now cooking up another firmware update for the Galaxy S23 series.
The Galaxy S23, S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra should soon get another One UI 5.1 update. Whether or not it will happen before or after Galaxy Unpacked is to be seen, but the pre-release firmware Samsung's now testing has build number “AWG5.” (via @theonecid)
The most recent update that is publicly available for the Galaxy S23 series rolled out earlier this month. It carries a firmware number that ends with the “AWFD” characters. The update brings the July 2023 security patch and weighs roughly 425MB.
We'll keep you up to speed as soon as we find out more about this upcoming release. Samsung already distributed its big camera update for June, so chances are that it doesn't have another mega update in the works for Galaxy S23 users so soon.
Whenever the next update goes live, SamMobile readers who prefer updating their phones using their Windows PCs should be able to download the official firmware files from our website.
