With the launch of the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung is going back to its software update development, and we're already seeing signs of its progress. The company has released the February 2023 security patch to the Galaxy Note 20 series. Now, the South Korean firm has released a Material You app icon for the Galaxy Store.
Starting last year, Samsung started rolling out Material You dynamic app icons for its stock apps. However, not all its stock apps have been updated with the new design language. Today, the company has started rolling out a new update to the Galaxy Store that brings the Material You dynamic app icon. Some users have started getting the update with app version 6.6.09.62, and if you want to update the app, open the Galaxy Store and check if you've received this update.
Some people who haven't received the update yet have tried changing the phone's date to February 7, 2023, and the trick worked. They've received the Material You dynamic app icon for the Galaxy Store. This new icon changes its original pink color to a color that's inspired by your phone's wallpaper colors.
Hopefully, Samsung updates all its stock apps (even those not pre-installed on its phones and tablets) with Material You app icons. It will give a consistent look to the whole UI. Not everyone may like the new design, but the good thing is you can disable the Material You dynamic app icon look from the settings.
