Verizon models of the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy 5 Pro are the first in line to pick up the update. The latest update is arriving with the software version R9x5USQU1AVH6. The Bluetooth models already received the update last week. The official changelog does not mention anything specific but reads, “provides performance improvements for your device.”

So, you can expect some of the minor bugs present on the watches to get fixed with the update. You can update your Galaxy Watch 5 series device by launching the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone. Then, head over to Watch Settings » Watch Software Update and tap Download and Install to check if new software is available on the device.
Samsung will continue to release updates to the Galaxy Watch 5 series. Remember that the devices feature a temperature sensor, but it isn't active yet. So, the company could release an update to activate the functionality. It's important to note that Apple's latest smartwatches also feature a temperature sensor, so Samsung could activate the feature sooner than later.
