It's the beginning of a new SamMobile Week — a weekly series through which we explore Samsung apps and services Monday through Friday. Previously, we reviewed the Samsung Health and SmartThings apps. This week, we're diving deep into another app that is intertwined with Samsung's device ecosystem. As per the title above, we're referring to Galaxy Wearable.
What is Galaxy Wearable, and why do you need it? In short, the Galaxy Wearable mobile app is the core of the Samsung wearable experience. If you've never used this app, chances are you don't own a Galaxy wearable device.

Why Galaxy Wearable?
The odd thing about the Galaxy Wearable app is that, for some Galaxy device users, it's virtually useless, while for others, it's a critical component of their mobile experience.
In essence, whether or not you find Galaxy Wearable valuable depends entirely on whether or not you own a Samsung wearable device, such as a pair of wireless earbuds or a smartwatch.
On its own, without a wearable device, the app has no purpose. But as soon as you want to add a wearable to your device ecosystem, Galaxy Wearable becomes invaluable. The app lets you manage your smartwatches and wireless earbuds and opens up new ways of customizing your experience with per-device settings and more.
The Galaxy Wearable app UI is automatically broken down into different home screens, each dedicated to one wearable device that is connected to your phone or tablet. So, you can imagine that your Galaxy Buds settings have their own section, separate from Galaxy Watch settings, and so on. As such, you can view the Galaxy Wearable app as a hub for all your wearable devices.
Users can add new devices to Galaxy Wearable by tapping the hamburger menu, selecting “Add a new device,” waiting for the phone or tablet to scan for a nearby Galaxy wearable device, and following the on-screen pairing process.
More options and features are revealed for each Galaxy device connected to your Samsung phone or tablet. Using Galaxy Wearable, you can customize your smartwatch UI or define sound settings for your earbuds. Throughout the week, we'll explore more of these individual settings for different types of wearables. Stay tuned.
