Earlier today, Samsung started rolling out the September 2023 security patch to its latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Now, the company is rolling out the latest security update to two Galaxy Z Flip 5 predecessors, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4. At the moment, the company is pushing the new security patch to the international variants carrying model numbers SM-F711B and SM-721B, respectively.
Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Flip 4 get September 2023 security update in Europe
The firmware version of the new firmware for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is F711BXXS6FWH9, whereas, that for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is F721BXXS4DWHA. As mentioned earlier, the software update brings the September 2023 security patch, which fixes a total of 62 security issues. The update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is rolling out in Europe and Latin America, whereas, the new update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is currently available only in Europe. Other regions should also get the new update soon.
If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 3 or Galaxy Z Flip 4 user in these regions, your device should automatically notify you about it. However, if it hasn’t, you can check for the new update manually by navigating to Settings » Software updates and tapping Download and install. Alternatively, you can also download the update from our database and install it manually using the Odin software on your Windows PC.
The previous software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 brought One UI 5.1.1 to the phones. While Samsung is expected to open Android 14-based One UI 6.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will directly get the stable version of Android 14 (One UI 6.0) in the next few months.
