Samsung has continuously pushed the March 2024 security update to its smartphones and tablets over the past few days. After rolling it out to several high-end phones, the update started rolling out to mid-range phones today. Now, the US variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 have started getting the new security update.
Galaxy Z Flip 3's carrier-locked and factory-unlocked models are getting March 2024 update
The new software update for the carrier-locked Galaxy Z Flip 3 units comes with firmware version F711USQS6HXBD in the US. The update is available on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile networks in the US. The factory-unlocked units of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 are also getting the new update, but it comes with firmware version F711U1UES6HXBE. It is available on almost all carrier networks across the US.
This new update includes the March 2024 security patch, which fixes around 44 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. It doesn't bring any new features to the Galaxy Z Flip 3. You can expect the phone to get some new features with the upcoming One UI 6.1 update, but it could be a couple of months before we see it landing on the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
If you have a Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the US, you can now check for the new update on your phone. You can do that by opening the Settings app on your phone, navigating to Software update, and tapping Download and install. Alternative method involves downloading the firmware file appropriate for your phone's model number from our database and flashing it manually using a Windows OS computer and the Odin tool.
