Much like the premium Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has also been at the heart of several leaks of late. We got to see the entire Galaxy Z Fold 3 spec sheet earlier, and now, it is the Galaxy Z Flip 3's turn. The information comes from WinFuture, a reputable source, so we can rest easy knowing that its contents are accurate.
Galaxy Z Flip 3 specifications are now out in the wild
Much like its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will offer two screens- a primary 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel clocked at 120Hz and a smaller 1.9-inch (512 x 260) secondary display at the back. The back will be protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Additionally, one can open and close the Galaxy Z Flip 3 about 200,000 times, which roughly translates to five years of usage before failure, same as the original Galaxy Z Flip.
Moving on to the Galaxy Z Flip 3's innards, we get a beefy Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset along with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. This was pretty much confirmed by a Geekbench listing from earlier. Lastly, the smartphone will draw power from a paltry 3,300mAh battery that supports wireless charging and fast wired charging. The latter's exact wattage is unknown, but we're probably looking at a maximum limit of 25W, or even 15W, according to one report.
Optics on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 consist of one 12MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. A 10MP sensor will handle selfies and video calls, the report adds. 8K video recording is possible, too, apparently, but that is likely an error, as it is physically impossible for a 12MP sensor to pull it off. The only way that's happening is if Samsung uses some AI-driven sorcery to make a 4K video look like 8K.
Other Galaxy Z Flip 3 features include 5G, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. Interestingly enough, Wi-Fi support is limited to 802.11 ac only (no Wi-Fi 6), which is quite puzzling, given that the Snapdragon 888 supports it. Samsung has also thrown in a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Oh, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will have an IP rating as well.
