Samsung has released the August 2023 security update to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The update is currently available in some Latin American countries, and we expect it to expand to more countries worldwide within the next few days.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes bearing firmware version F721BXXS4CWG8 in Chile, Guatemala, and Panama. In Colombia, the new update has firmware version F721BXXS4CWG9 for the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is getting a new update in Chile, Guatemala, and Panama with firmware version F936BXXS4CWG6. The new update brings the August 2023 security patch to fix over 70 security flaws found in the previous version of the software.
Don't expect any new features or performance improvements with the new update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Both these phones will get some new features with the upcoming One UI 5.1.1 update that Samsung is promising to release in the next few days.
If you have a Galaxy Z Flip 4 or a Galaxy Z Fold 4 and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. You would need to use a computer with Windows OS and Samsung's Odin software tool for the manual firmware flashing method.
