The prestigious Time Magazine has chosen the Galaxy Z Flip 5 as among the best innovations of 2023. That's quite some praise for Samsung's latest bendy smartphone. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 brings a gapless hinge and a huge cover screen that lets you do more without getting sucked into mindlessly scrolling through social media feeds.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is among 14 products chosen in the Consumer Electronics category. Termed ‘A Modern Flip Phone' by Time Magazine, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has been praised for its 3.4-inch external screen that lets you check important notifications, weather, and other information through neatly arranged widgets. The Time Magazine had to say this about why they chose the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in its best innovations list of the year:

“Cell phones are addictive by design, but sometimes you just want to check an email without getting sucked into apps. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5's key feature, its Flex Window, fixes that. The flip phone has a 3.4-in. external screen, next to its back-facing lenses, that allows you to dip into important notifications without being lured in.”

Samsung introduced a gapless hinge design, which it calls the Flex Hinge. It allows the phone to be closed without a visible gap on earlier generation Galaxy Z series foldable phones. The device also features a faster processor, improved battery life, and a more stylish design. Check out our in-depth Galaxy Z Flip 5 review in the video below.

The other innovations chosen in the same category by Time Magazine include the Birdie+ (personal safety device), Framework Laptop 16 (longer-lasting laptop), Nokia G22 (repairability), Sony Alpha 7R V (smarter autofocus), LG Signature OLED M (wireless 4K TV), UE Premier (rich sounding IEMs), Canon MS-500 (high sensitivity long-range camera), Apple Watch Ultra 2, Sonos Era 300, Intel Thunderbolt 5, Loftie Clock, Logitech Playseat Challenge X, and Sony FX3 camera..
