Galaxy Z Fold 2 customers in the United States can rest easy knowing that their foldable devices are a little more secure thanks to a new firmware update Samsung is rolling out right now. It's available for the unlocked model (SM-F916U1), and the carrier variants should follow suit.
The new update brings the April 2022 security patch to Galaxy Z Fold 2 users in the USA. It carries firmware number F916U1UES2GVC8, and as always, you should be able to download it from the “Software update” section inside the Settings app on your phone.
The April 2022 security patch addresses a variety of issues, some of which are related to One UI Home and Samsung DeX. So, it is worth downloading and installing this new update on your Galaxy Z Fold 2 as soon as possible, even if it doesn't bring any new features or UI changes to customers in the USA.
If you don't want to download the new update OTA (Over-The-Air), you can acquire the firmware files from our website and install the update manually using official Samsung tools and a PC.
And in case you missed the previous news, the April 2022 security update is also available for Galaxy Z Fold 2 customers in Europe and should reach more markets soon. Stay tuned!
