The latest update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is beginning to roll out in Europe following its debut in the USA earlier this week. As the title already gave away, this update does not bring One UI 6.1 to Samsung's flagship foldable.
It's a standard security update that doesn't have anything interesting except for the new security fixes that Samsung smartphones receive every month. More precisely, the update–sporting build number F946BXXS1BXBM–brings the March 2024 security patch to the Fold 5.
We are still hoping Samsung will release One UI 6.1 for its 2023 flagships, including the Z Fold 5, before the end of the month. However, we're also growing more skeptical as each day goes by, and it's looking more and more likely that One UI 6.1 will only be released in a handful of markets in March and will only get a wider rollout from April.
For now, if the March 2024 security update is available in your country, you will be able to download it on your Fold 5 over the air by selecting the Download and install option in the phone's Settings » Software update menu. We also have the complete firmware available in our archive, and you can use it to manually update your phone by using Samsung's Odin tool on a Windows PC.
