On March 28, Samsung started rolling out the One UI 6.1 update to all 2023 flagships, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5. One UI 6.1 came bundled with the March 2024 security patch, and Samsung is now following up with a new update that brings the latest security patch to these devices.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 received the April 2024 security update earlier today, and a similar update is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Fold 5 owners in Europe can download the latest security update by opening their phone's Settings app, navigating to Software update, and selecting Download and install.
The new Galaxy Z Fold 5 firmware, which can also be downloaded from our firmware library, comes with the build number F946BXXS1CXCH. It should become available in all European countries over the next couple of days.
Those in other regions can expect to get the update sometime next week. If you haven't received One UI 6.1 yet, you may get both the April security patch and One UI 6.1 in the same update.
Latest Galaxy Z Fold 5 update is all about security enhancements
If you are running One UI 6.1 and have been facing some issues, don't expect them to be solved with the April update, as it only brings security fixes. Having problems with touch input like some Galaxy S23 users? That may be because of the Google Discover app, and there's a temporary solution that you can try for the time being.
