The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 pre-order success story extends to more markets beyond South Korea. As you might recall, the two new foldable phones have exceeded Galaxy S22 pre-orders in their first week on the market in the company's homeland. And now, according to Samsung, the two new foldable phones have set new pre-order records in Taiwan.

Samsung says that pre-orders for the new Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 recorded at the Smart Pavilion and Samsung Mall were 20% higher compared to the 2021 foldable phone generation. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has enjoyed a huge leap in popularity, gaining twice as many pre-orders as the Z Fold 3.

Pre-orders were almost equally spread across the new foldable phone series

Based on the pre-order figures recorded at the Samsung Mall and Smart Pavilion in Taiwan, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 were equally successful. Each of the two foldable devices accounted for roughly 50% of all pre-orders.

In terms of specific models, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 featuring 256GB of storage has covered nearly 60% of all Flip 4 pre-orders. The 512GB and 1TB Galaxy Z Fold 4 variants covered 50%. And as far as colors go, 30% of Galaxy Z Flip 4 customers gravitated towards purple, while 40% of Galaxy Z Fold 4 buyers picked green.

To mark the success of the new foldable phones in Taiwan, Samsung has prepared new discounts and bonuses. Customers buying the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Z Flip 4 from September 2 onward can get a 25W fast charger for free, as well as other accessories and protective cases. They can also get NT$500 ($16) rebate with Samsung Pay EasyCard and a 4-month free subscription to YouTube Premium.

All in all, the new Samsung foldable phones are seemingly proving that a large portion of smartphone users are ready to experience something new. Pre-order figures in multiple markets confirm their early success, but whether or not Samsung can maintain a high level of interest among customers for a prolonged period of time remains to be seen. These new deals after the pre-order period might do the trick.

There's plenty to love about these devices. The new Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 boast more battery life and higher durability than ever. They ship with Qualcomm's latest chipset, and they're among the very few foldable phones to have an IP rating for water resistance.
