Google has finally released the Gemini app for Android devices in Europe and the UK. If you live in these countries or regions, you can now install the Gemini app on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet.
Google's Gemini AI assistant is now available in Europe and the UK on Android devices
The Gemini app is now available (via 9To5Google) for Android smartphones and tablets in Europe and the UK. You can download it on your Galaxy (or other branded Android) device from the Google Play Store. You can also opt-in to use the Gemini app when you open the Google Assistant app on your Galaxy device.
Google first showcased its next-generation AI-powered digital assistant in October 2023. Back then, it was named Bard. In February 2024, Google renamed Bard to Gemini and started rolling it out in February in the USA. Since then, the company has been slowly rolling it out to other markets. Now, it is available in Europe and the UK and could expand to other markets soon.
Gemini was better than Google Assistant in understanding natural language, explaining answers in detail, and understanding context. However, it wasn't as feature-rich as Google Assistant in terms of integration with third-party and Google's services. Google is improving upon that shortcoming. It now has integration with Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Keep, Google Tasks, Google Workspace (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, and Slides), and YouTube (and YouTube Music).
Google has now made Gemini available in several languages. They are listed below.
- Arabic
- Chinese
- Danish
- Dutch
- English
- French
- German
- Italian
- Indonesian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Norwegian
- Polish
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Spanish
- Swedish
- Thai
- Vietnamese

With this release, Gemini is now available in almost all countries worldwide. It is still unavailable in China and Hong Kong. However, Google needs to add support for many other languages (including Thai and Vietnamese) in Gemini.
