Emojis are a stylish way of reacting, and they are now everywhere. All social media platforms let you respond with emojis, except for Gmail. However, that will change because Google is bringing emoji reactions to its email service, Gmail. Although it may be the topic of a later discussion, why would you want emoji reactions on an email service? But whether you like it or not, Gmail is getting emoji reactions.
Notably, according to the latest reports, the Gmail emoji reactions feature is available for Android phones and tablets. And if this is a hit among people, it will soon make its way to iOS and the web. Emoji reactions will be available for each Gmail message in your inbox.
Gmail emoji reactions aren't available for school or work accounts
Once you have opened an email and scrolled down, you will see the option of the new emoji reaction. It sits to the right of the Reply, Reply All, and Forward buttons. By tapping the option, you will see a row of emojis you can select and react to. Simply tap on the one you want, and that's it.
You can also add more emojis if you wish to widen the variety of your reactions by tapping the plus (+) button at the end of the row. All the reactions made to an email will be visible at the bottom. Tapping and holding on each one will show you the list of people who used that particular emoji. Hold your horses because there is more. When you choose the party popper emoji, the animation fills your screen with a full-page animation.
In case you are wondering, if you are using a third-party email client with Gmail, then the emoji reactions will be treated as a separate email reply. Emoji reactions aren't available for work or school accounts, and they won't be available if the email is sent to more than 20 people, to a group list, if you are in the BCC, and if you have already sent 20 reactions to the same message.
Emoji reactions will not work in Gmail if the sender has set a custom reply-to address or if the message is encrypted.
