Last month, @AssembleDebug revealed that Google is working on showing an AI-generated summary of an app’s description in the Google Play Store to give you a quick overview of an app. Well, the company has now started rolling out the feature to the public. As spotted by Android Police, the changelog for Google System’s March 2024 update says that the Google Play Store will now show you highlights of apps and games.

The new feature appears as a rectangular box below the Install button marked as ‘App highlights.’ The description of the feature reads ’Get details about this app summarised by Google AI. Once you click on the ‘Show’ button in the box, it summarizes the description of the app (the content in the ‘About this app’ section), giving you a quick overview of the app, and saving you from going through the marketing fluff, which should save you a lot of time when trying to learn about an app.

Google Play Store AI Highlights

So far, we haven’t received the new feature on our Galaxy S23 or Galaxy S24+ in India, which suggests that Google might be rolling out the update in phases. So, it might take some time for the feature to become available to everyone.
