While Gmail already offers different features for an enhanced search experience, Google is pushing some more improved search-related features for Gmail and Google Chat. Since there is always scope for improvements, these new search-related additions will make searching queries on Gmail and Chat more precise.
If you use Google Chat, then you will be happy to know that Google Chat will now start showing suggestions as you type the query in the search box. These suggestions will be based on your search history and will make it easy to narrow down a message containing a specific message or file.
Moreover, Gmail labels are also getting updated. Thanks to this, Gmail will allow you to focus on a particular label, such as inbox, starred, etc., within the app. In its official blog, Google notes that the search results will include results that are found under that particular label. It can also be obtained by using the search option pill within the Gmail app search bar.

Also, Gmail on the web is getting some improvements. The Gmail web app will show related results when your query doesn't show any precise results. Reportedly, random results also help users find what they are looking for.
Search suggestions on Google Chat are currently available on Android devices and iOS devices will receive them by the end of this month. On the other hand, all of Gmail's new features are available right now.
Notably, personal Google accounts users will receive the features and are not limited to Google Workspace accounts. The related results features are also available for Gmail users on the web. For more information, you can check out the official Google Workspace blog.
