After updating a bunch of its apps with the Material You design, Google is pushing the Material You redesign for Google Voice. If you are a Galaxy smartphone user who uses the Google Voice app, you can now get the redesigned app. The Material You makeover revamps the bottom bar of the Google Voice on Android with pill-shaped indicators to show where you are currently on the app.
Moreover, the FAB (Floating Action Button) is now a rounded square instead of a circle, and it doesn't appear as you scroll. The top search bar titled ‘Search Google Voice' is now a pill-shaped field, and the navigation drawer has been modernized with rounded top and bottom corners. The navigation drawer has more room and stretches as a wider panel.
The Google Voice Material You update is still awaiting its wider rollout
Dynamic Color is here and is applied throughout the app, getting rid of the silent gray color from before. As noted by 9To5Google, when you are viewing a conversation, the status and app bars do not merge. Also, the homescreen widgets get the Material You makeover with Dynamic Color background. With this new makeover, the entire Google Voice interface goes in line with Android's modern UI, and the app now doesn't look out of place.
The Material You redesign for the Google Voice app on Android comes after the Google Tasks app was redesigned in February. Besides, all other Google workspace apps have been updated with the new design. The Material You redesign is available for Google Voice on Android with version 2023.03.20.518941070. Do note that the update hasn't rolled out widely via the Play Store. So, keep your eye out for this.
