The latest reports suggest that Instagram will soon let you share your Stories with a specific group of people. According to Instagram head Adam Mosseri, the social media app is testing the option to allow users to share their Stories with multiple audience lists. Instagram already gives you the ‘Close Friends' option, using which you can add a bunch of friends to a list and share Stories with them.
This works when you have a public profile and gives you sanity in maintaining the privacy of your social network. However, there are instances when you would want to share something with people outside of your close group of friends. This is where the option to create multiple audience lists on Instagram will come in handy. If your close group of friends doesn't fit the description of the Stories you wish to share, then you can create a new group, add a bunch of people, and share the Stories with them. More importantly, this option would be of great help for social media influencers, offering them more options for sharing and targeting their audience properly.
This Instagram multiple audience list feature is still a work in progress
Mosseri added, “This allows you to share stories with smaller groups and gives you more control over who can see your stories.” As per the screenshots shared by Instagram, you can create a small group for your siblings, for people who love food and different characteristics, and share Stories based on their likings.
Do note that the ability to create multiple audience lists on Instagram is still an experimental feature, and there is no guarantee when it will be released widely.
