Galaxy Watch 4 customers in select markets have had the opportunity to test the first One UI Watch 4.5 beta build for the past couple of weeks. The beta program is advancing, and Samsung is now rolling out the second beta update for the Watch 4.
The new build has firmware version R8xxXXU1ZVF5. It is available for customers – specifically beta testers – in the United States and South Korea.
The first One UI Watch 4.5 beta update that Samsung released earlier this month introduced new watch faces, among other things. But it was a bit rough around the edges, and one of the issues beta testers were complaining about was poor battery life. (via TizenHelp)
The second Watch 4.5 beta firmware promises many fixes
The second beta build is less about adding new features and more about fixing the ones that didn't work as intended during the first beta testing phase. To begin with, the new update claims to stabilize power consumption.
Furthermore, the Health app should now perform better and not crash. It should also detect activities like running and swimming more accurately.
App running performance is superior in the second beta build, and GPS connectivity is more stable. At least, so claims the changelog distributed by Samsung.
The call receiving screen should now display properly when there's music playing on the Watch 4, and there are more fixes to My Photo+, AR emoji, alarms not snoozing correctly, the weather screen cutting off, and others.
