Barring the recent release of the Galaxy Buds FE, which are a toned down version of Samsung's wireless earbuds, it been a while since Samsung introduced an entirely new generation of the Galaxy Buds. That might change later this year as new information has surfaced which reveals that Samsung has got the brand new Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Galaxy Buds 3 in development.
We exclusively reported back in November last year that the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro were in the pipeline. Today's report reiterates that and also reveals that Samsung also has a pair of the Galaxy Buds 3 on the way.
Firmware development for both new earbuds has also begun
There's no denying that Samsung's wireless earbuds are due for an upgrade. The Galaxy Buds 2 were launched back in 2021 while the Buds 2 Pro was launched about 18 months ago. We didn't get new earbuds alongside the Galaxy S24 series last month, which was an indication that perhaps a new pair might be unveiled late this year.
GalaxyClub reports that the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Galaxy Buds 3 are in development with model numbers SM-R630 and SM-R530 respectively. Samsung is also working on the firmware for both models. A certification of the battery for the charging case of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro had recently surfaced online as well, but didn't reveal any specific information about its capacity.
It's unclear at this point in time when Samsung intends to launch these new earbuds. If one were to take a guess, it would likely happen alongside the new foldable phones, that the company might launch in either July or August this year.
