So far, there have been a bunch of leaks regarding the Switch 2, the upcoming portable gaming console from Nintendo. While these leaks have shed light on the specifications of the product, none of those reports have said anything about its price. Now, a report, where analysts have predicted the future of the gaming industry, has some juicy information about the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 as well as the price of its games.

According to the CEO of Kantan Games, Serkan Toto, Nintendo will price the Switch 2 at USD 400. That means it will be USD 100 more expensive than the Switch. He also says that the price of the games for the upcoming console will be around USD 70, which is significantly higher than those for the current generation console, and in line with those for the gaming consoles from Microsoft and Sony.

Nintendo Switch 2 won't be revolutionary

Furthermore, Serkan says that the Switch 2 will be “an iteration rather than a revolution” of the Switch. It means that even though the upcoming product will offer significant upgrades over the predecessor, it will not be a game changer. The analyst also says that since Pokemon is associated with handheld gaming, “there’s no way on earth” that Nintendo will “drop the portability feature” of the upcoming gaming console.

The Lead Analyst at Newzoo, Tom Wijman, says “Nintendo will allow users to transfer between Nintendo accounts to Switch 2,” so that you don’t have to build your games library from scratch. He also reiterates that Nintendo will launch the Switch 2 in 2024. Last but not least, the Head of Games Research at Ampere Analysis, Piers Harding-Rolls, says that the Switch 2 will help the gaming industry to grow.
