Wear OS has been gaining multiple features and apps in the recent past to compete with its Apple counterpart. Expanded third-party app development is always welcome as it gives users more options. The latest fitness company to release its app for Wear OS smartwatches is Peloton.
The Peloton digital app is now live for Wear OS 3 compatible smartwatches, which include the Google Pixel Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series, and the Galaxy Watch 5 series. Notably, the Peloton Wear OS app has been a long time coming as the app is already available on the Apple Watch. The company took its own sweet time before launching it for Wear OS.
The Peloton Wear OS 3 app cannot be paired in any capacity with the Peloton bike, as of now
Frankly, they should have taken some more time before launching the app for Wear OS, as the only thing that can be done using this app is heart rate monitoring. Moreover, the app isn't supported in all countries.
By accessing your vital signs data, the Peloton app on the Wear OS 3 smartwatches can track your heart rate, showing the data on a watch-face UI. Folks at 9To5Google noted that there is no way that you can pair the Peloton app on your Wear OS with a Peloton bike, unlike what you can do in the Apple Watch, which is a feature it gained earlier this year.
Similar to Apple's Fitness+, the Peloton app lets you view classes through the app and sync data directly from your watch. If you don't mind missing out on some additional features, you can head to the Play Store and download the app for your supported Wear OS 3 smartwatch.
