A few months ago, Samsung unveiled its first 200MP camera sensor for smartphones. The ISOCELL HP1 is yet to debut on a smartphone, but the South Korean firm can't help but showcase its major advantage in a new video.
This new video aims to show the amount of detail that Samsung's 200MP camera sensor can preserve. Since no phone with this sensor has been released yet, Samsung hooked the sensor up to a prototype smartphone and used a giant lens to capture a detailed image of a cute cat.
A 200MP image of the cat, captured using the ISOCELL HP1 and a prototype device, was then printed on a huge canvas (28 x 22 meters) using an industrial printer. The canvas was made by stitching together twelve separate 2.3m pieces, and it was then hung on a giant building.
The takeaway from this new video is that you can capture a lot of detail and then zoom into a picture without losing details. The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is expected to be the first phone with this 200MP sensor, and it will be launched in July 2022. You can watch the whole video below.
