AI or artificial intelligence has been the buzzword of 2023. There's a lot of talk about the AI features we can expect from Samsung's upcoming lineup of flagship phones. New chipsets from both Samsung and Qualcomm boast advanced AI capabilities that will provide users with new experiences on next year's flagship phones.
Samsung has put together an event to showcase its latest research achievements in artificial intelligence that contribute to its next-generation chipsets. Called the Samsung AI Forum, the event is now underway in Seoul, South Korea.
Safety and trustworthiness is at the top of mind for researchers
Samsung AI Forum will host over 1,000 attendees, including researchers, academics, industry experts, and students. The first day, hosted by Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, took place at the Suwon Convention Ceter in Gyeonggi-do and it focused on the theme of “large-scale AI for a better tomorrow.” Day 2 will be hosted by Samsung Research at Samsung R&D campus in Seoul, tomorrow.
Safety and trustworthiness are some of the challenges resulting from the rapid advancement of AI. To that end, a safe AI machine learning algorithm was showcased at the event by Yoshua Bengio, a deep learning technology expert, which stops large language models from developing in directions not intended by the developers.
Day 1 of the Samsung AI Forum focused primarily on LLMs, the Transformation of AI for Industry, and Large-scale Computing for LLMs and Simulation. Researchers at the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology provided their insights on how semiconductor development and manufacturing will change in the future with the integration of AI across all facets of semiconductor processing.
