Samsung’s almost done remastering Galaxy S22 zoom transitions

A few weeks ago, a Samsung Community moderator confirmed that the development team in charge of the camera experience is working on smoothening camera zoom animations for the Galaxy S22 series. The goal is to elevate the experience on par with the Galaxy S23 series. Today, the same moderator offered an update on the development team's progress.

Evidently, the camera transition animation upgrades were not made available through the June update, but they should debut soon. Nevertheless, adjusting those camera zoom animations for the Galaxy S22 series is not as easy as it sounds.

The moderator says the lens transition effect “has a lot more points to fix than it looks.” It takes a lot of time to verify all the modified software components, he added. However, “we're almost done,” says the mod, and Samsung intends to make the feature “available as soon as possible.”

It sounds like the bulk of the work is done, and Samsung is now testing the changes it made to the Galaxy S22 zoom animations. It's not entirely clear if these upgraded animations will be implemented through a monthly firmware update for the Galaxy S22 series or a Camera app update. We'll keep you up to speed as soon as we find out more.
