Samsung's successful Galaxy A5x series was once again reborn last month after the Galaxy A53 got announced, and this new mid-range device has been slowly but surely reaching more markets since. Samsung Canada picked up the Galaxy A53 late last week. Prospective buyers can now buy this device through Samsung's online e-shop and offline Samsung Experience Stores, retail partner shops, and major carriers nationwide.
Samsung Canada is offering the Galaxy A53 5G for $589.99. The phone features 128GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD (through the second SIM slot). The offer gets better for customers buying the ‘awesome' Galaxy A53 5G from Samsung's e-shop before April 13, as they get a $100 e-voucher toward their next purchase.
An awesome mid-range phone with imperfections
The Galaxy A53 5G is a great mid-range phone but has some caveats. First of all, it doesn't ship with a wall charger, so customers in need of one will have to buy it separately. Secondly, there's the fact that the phone doesn't have a standard 3.5mm audio port, and finally, the Exynos 1280 SoC — although overall more than adequate — hasn't been fully optimized for all the popular mobile games on the market (yet).
On the other hand, the Galaxy A53 5G offers a good multimedia experience thanks to its fantastic 120Hz Super AMOLED display and nice stereo speakers. Furthermore, the camera system performs decently in more varied lighting conditions thanks to OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), and the device will get four major Android OS upgrades throughout its lifetime.
All things considered, there's a lot to like about the new Galaxy A53 5G, as long as you don't mind buying it in Awesome Black, as no other color options seem to be available at Samsung Canada's online shop as of this writing.
