Last month Samsung said the Galaxy Enhance-X app for the Galaxy S22 is almost finished and should become available in about 2-3 weeks. Development continued, and yesterday, the company followed up with another update in which it said the app “is ready.” It should soon be available to Galaxy S22 users.
Same as before, the news comes from the Samsung Community moderator on the Korean forums, who is in charge of camera updates. In (machine) translation, the moderator confirmed that “yes, it [Galaxy Enhance-X] is ready. We will notify you soon and distribute it [to the Galaxy S22].”
Another Galaxy S23 feature borrowed by the S22
It was May 29 when the same moderator said the Galaxy S22 series should get the Enhance-X app in 2-3 weeks. Needless to say, it looks like things should be going according to schedule. And once the app goes live, Galaxy S22 users will have new and powerful photo-remastering tools at their fingertips, borrowed from the Galaxy S23 series.
Samsung originally released Galaxy Enhance-X for the 2023 flagships in April. The app is kind of like a souped-up version of the Photo Remastering feature embedded in the Gallery app.
Enhance-X can improve photos through AI and fix issues related to noise, blur, and loss of detail. It was designed to be user-friendly and doesn't require advanced photo-editing knowledge to offer great results.
By the sound of it, Samsung is ready to roll out the app for the Galaxy S22, but the schedule is unknown. It might go live in South Korea first, followed by other markets. Or it might debut globally. We'll keep you posted.
