New Galaxy Z Flip 4 ad asks iPhone users ‘to get off the fence’

In an effort to attract customers who are confused between Samsung and Apple, Samsung has released an ad that mocks Apple's iPhone. In the latest Galaxy Z Flip 4 ad, Samsung makes fun of the iPhone's traditional candybar design and, as a consequence, indirectly mocks Apple for not having anything new to offer to its customers.

The ad showcases a guy sitting on a fence, literally depicting people who are having a hard time choosing between an Apple iPhone or a Samsung smartphone. The guy in the ad says that he cannot switch to a Samsung smartphone because he's worried about what his friends will think, only to be told by his friend that “when you pull out your new Galaxy Z Flip 4, people are going to lose it.”

The guy is then handed over a Galaxy Z Flip 4, followed by his friends popping out from behind the fence to tell him how cool the phone is. The ad ends with captions “Time to get off the fence” and “The Galaxy awaits you,” referring to the moniker Samsung users for its range of smartphones, earbuds, laptops, and more.

Essentially, the ad was released not only to mock Apple's boring design but to highlight the unique foldable design of the Galaxy Z Flip smartphones. But it should also be noted that the design the Galaxy Z Flip 4 offers might not be everyone's cup of tea. Most people are still okay with a rectangular slab-like design, especially since foldable phones force users to compromise on some specs (like the cameras and battery capacity).
