It seems like more eyes were glued to this year's Unpacked event than previous ones. This isn't about the Galaxy S22 series. Notably, Samsung has halted the pre-orders of the premium flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S8 and Tab S8 Ultra, in the US, due to booming demand.
This could seem like a surprise, because the tablet market, for better or worse, was dominated by the Apple iPad. But it seems like the demand for a great-spec'd Android tablet hasn't died down.
Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra started on Wednesday, and the pre-orders came pouring in like a tsunami. Since demand was too high compared to the current supply, Samsung had to halt pre-orders in the states for the two models.
You can still pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ in the US
There are three models in this premium tablet lineup by Samsung, i.e., the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and the Tab S8 Ultra. While pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab S8 and S8 Ultra are halted, people in the US can still pre-order the Galaxy Tab S8+ from Samsung's website.
However, there is no clarity on how long the stock will last for the Galaxy Tab S8+, and it will also join the other two tablets in the lineup. Samsung's official statement on the matter had this to say:
“We are thrilled by the consumer response to our new Galaxy Tab S8 lineup. Due to the overwhelming demand in the last 48 hours, we will be pausing preorders at Samsung.com for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S8. We are working quickly to meet consumer excitement and demand. Please stay tuned for more updates.”
This is a good problem to have for Samsung. It just goes to show that the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is indeed one of the best Samsung tablets ever launched.
