Samsung's official internet browser app for Android devices has received a new update. This update is a minor one that seems to make only one noticeable change: the address bar now has a shortcut to your Samsung account.
After updating to the new version (23.0.8.2), you will see your Samsung account profile picture on the right of the address bar. Tapping it will take you to your Samsung profile page where you can view and/or change things like your profile picture, payment methods, settings for Samsung Pass, Find My Mobile, and other Samsung apps and services, and all your devices.
However, the Samsung account shortcut is only visible when the address bar is empty, as you can see in the screenshot below. If you open a website, the shortcut disappears and you will have to hit the home button in the browser's bottom control panel to see it again.
We couldn't see any other changes in the new version of Samsung Internet, though Galaxy S24 buyers will have access to some new features, such as AI-powered webpage summarization and improved language translation capabilities. These features may or may not come to other devices with the One UI 6.1 update, and we will have to wait for some time before we know for sure.
To update Samsung Internet, open the Galaxy Store on your phone or tablet and go to its Updates menu; it should eventually be available through the Play Store as well. If you can't find it on either store, you can manually install the new version using its APK file, which can be downloaded from APKMirror.
