Samsung India has big plans to expand the number of official experience stores in the country. The company had announced that it would be opening 13 new Samsung Experience Stores in India over the course of 2023 across 9 different cities, but it seems a tenth city has been added to the list.
Samsung has opened an Experience Store in the city of Surat, Gujarat. This is the second store in the state – the first one was opened in Ahmedabad earlier this year. The Surat store is located at the International Business Center, and like other experience stores, this one is designed to attract a larger Gen Z and millennial crowd.
Samsung will do that by hosting workshops that will cover a wide range of topics, including digital art, doodling, photography, videography, fitness, cooking, coding, music, and events celebrating the local culture and values of the city. These workshops will be “learning events”, though they probably won't be the main reason customers will visit.
Customers will likely be more interested in visiting to check out Samsung's ecosystem of products across various categories, including mobiles, laptops, gaming, and smart homes. There will be demo units in the stores for customers to play with before purchasing, and they will also be able to browse and order products through a digital kiosk and choose to either get them delivered home or pick them up at the store.
Those visiting the Experience Store and buying products worth INR 15,000 or more in the first two weeks will get twice the loyalty points and the Galaxy Buds 2 wireless earbuds for INR 2,999, along with 10% cashback on credit and debit cards from the country's leading banks (the list of supported banks was not provided by Samsung in its press release). The Experience Store will also provide after-sales service for Galaxy smartphones.
