Samsung is gearing up to release another budget 5G smartphone in Europe. This time, it's the 5G variant of the existing Galaxy A23 (4G). Precise release details remain unclear, but it's the middle of 2022, and the clock is ticking on the 5G variant. This means European customers should soon have one more option for a low-cost 5G Galaxy phone.
The existing Galaxy A23 4G features the Snapdragon 680 chipset, the latter of which lacks 5G connectivity. So, even though we can assume that the Galaxy A23 5G will share many hardware components with the 4G model, it should at least have a different SoC.
Although credible sources confirm that the Galaxy A23 5G is coming to Europe (via GalaxyClub), unfortunately, we don't have a concrete launch timeframe to share. We'll keep you up to speed as soon as we find out more.
For now, we can take an educated guess and say that the Galaxy A23 5G will likely share many elements with the 4G model, including the 50MP primary camera and the 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging capabilities.
The Galaxy A23 4G is also equipped with a 6.6-inch V-cut PLS LCD boasting a 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, an 8MP selfie camera, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm audio jack. We'll have to wait and see how many of these characteristics will change or stay the same for the upcoming 5G model.
