Samsung’s RegiStar app, a module for the company's Good Lock suite, allows you to customize many aspects of your Galaxy smartphone. For starters, it enables you to reconfigure options of the Settings app and gives you the ability to check the changes made to system settings. You can also use this app to trigger an action by tapping on the back panel of the device and activating a function by long pressing the side key. Now, Samsung is rolling out an update to it which brings a very useful feature.

The latest version of RegiStar (v1.0.39) allows you to enable/disable the app’s ‘Back-Tap Action’ feature using the Modes and Routines app. The Back-Tap Action, as I mentioned earlier, allows you to trigger an action by tapping on the device's back panel. For example, you can use this feature to open an app or show notifications by double-tapping or triple-tapping on the back panel of your phone. With the latest update, you can activate or deactivate the Back-Tap Action feature using the Modes and Routines app.

Activate RegiStar's Back Tap Action using Modes and Routines

For instance, you can create a routine in the Modes and Routines app to activate the Back-Tap Action by double-tapping the home button on the navigation bar and, similarly, deactivate the Back-Tap Action feature by triple-tapping the multitasking button. Basically, you can enable or disable the Back-Tap Action function using any of the triggers in Modes and Routines. RegiStar offers deep-level customizations, and now, Samsung has baked its options in the Modes and Routines app. That’s really next-level integration.

Samsung’s Good Lock app has a ton of modules that give you the ability to customize your phone in unimaginable ways. Samsung is way ahead of other smartphone manufacturers in this regard. The changelog also mentions that the latest version of the app fixes some bugs, but the company hasn’t gone into detail about it. We can confirm that the new update is currently rolling out in all markets where it is available.

To update the RegiStar app, go to Galaxy Store » Updates and click the Update All button or tap the update icon next to the RegiStar app.
